Thursday was our day for travel to Paris— on a REALLY fast train. We had never ridden one and were both excited. We were told that it reaches 325 MPH at its fastest speed.
Before we left, however, they sent us to cooking school. I wasn’t particularly excited, but nevertheless found myself enjoying it immensely. We actually prepared the meal, hands on, rather than watching the chef do it. We made a three course meal: an appetizer made of smoked salmon with cream cheese and herbs, a main dish of beef and potatoes and best of all, the dessert made with glazed pears. Everything was really good and I helped!
Following matriculation from culinary school, we still had time to stroll around the area in central Lyon. Judy and I did a little shopping, walking, looking and eating—seems we never get enough food on this trip.
Then, about 1:15, we made our way to the train. We enjoyed our stroll, but both of us had enough of the rain. The train was amazing. We tried to take some pictures as we moved along the beautiful French countryside, but our cameras seemed to be much slower than the train. Everything was blurred.
In the evening, we went our separate ways again. Judy joined the other members of our group for a delightful evening at a Cabaret. I had contracted with a professional photographer to do night photography in Paris. We both had a great time. I’ll share a few of my images inspired by my instructor below.

Charles, love these last two posts. The train travels kilometers per hour (KPH). So your train was going just a little over 200 MPH. Still darn fast. Glad you enjoyed the ride.

Linda, we enjoyed the day with you and Bernie so much, and thanks for the lesson on blogging which taught me how to do this.
